The step-by-step to partnership — from vehicle eligibility to the contract, TVDE insurance and your first weekly payment, with no driving required.
You do not put the car on Uber or Bolt yourself. TVDE law requires a licensed operator, a certified driver and a vehicle registered on the platforms. In a LaraGo partnership you rent the car; we are the operator: we assign a driver, arrange activity-appropriate insurance and list the vehicle on Uber and Bolt. You receive a fixed weekly payment, with no driving and no day-to-day management.
The agreement is a vehicle rental to LaraGo. You do not drive, find drivers or manage trips in the apps.
Only vehicles listed by the operator with the platform may operate as TVDE. On this path, that operator is LaraGo.
You receive the same amount every week, agreed in writing, regardless of mileage or rides.
These requirements are cumulative: if the vehicle misses one, it cannot operate as TVDE or join the LaraGo fleet. Check them on the registration document before you apply.
Less than seven years from the date of first registration. Once the car turns 7, it can no longer operate as TVDE.
A light passenger car with Portuguese registration and no more than nine seats including the driver. Bolt also requires 5 doors.
For TVDE, the technical inspection is due one year after first registration and then every year — more often than for a private car.
Civil liability and personal-accident cover including passengers, at least the legal minimum for hire-and-reward in light vehicles. Ordinary private insurance is not enough.
The vehicle must be listed by the operator (LaraGo) with Uber and Bolt, which confirm the legal requirements. Cars run unmarked, with only the removable IMT sign, and with no advertising. Source: Law no. 45/2018, article 12.
This order avoids back-and-forth: confirm the car is eligible, gather the papers, then send the request. After that, assessment, the offer, TVDE insurance, the contract and handover happen with us.
Read the registration document before you fill in the form: age, plates and seats decide if you can proceed.
On the Portuguese registration document (DUA) check: first-registration date (the car must be under 7 years), Portuguese plates, light-passenger category and up to 9 seats. For Bolt it also needs 5 doors — a platform rule, not article 12, but LaraGo’s fleet follows it in practice.
Condition matters too: no structural damage, tyres and servicing in order, presentable interior. The partnership is for Greater Lisbon. If the car is a few months from turning 7, tell us: the contract can only last while the law allows.
Missing documents slow the assessment. Digitise the essentials first.
Prepare copies (a sharp photo or PDF) of:
If the car is on credit, leasing or retention of title, check with the lender that you may rent it out. Photos of the exterior (4 sides), interior and mileage help the next step.
The owners-page form is the official starting point of the partnership.
Submit your name, email, mobile, make, model, year and general condition. In the message you can add the plate, mileage, whether it has 5 doors and whether it is financed.
The team replies by email during business hours (Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm, Lisbon time). This contact is not yet the contract: it tells us whether the car can move to assessment.
We check Law no. 45/2018 and what the platforms require in practice.
We verify age, plates, seating, IPO, condition and, if needed, ask for more photos or an in-person inspection in Greater Lisbon. We only proceed if the operator can list the car on the platforms.
If it is not eligible (for example too close to 7 years, foreign plates, or 3 doors for Bolt), we say so clearly — with no contract commitment.
The amount is fixed and written before you sign. It does not depend on trips.
Weekly gross rent is generally between €200 and €400, depending on model, year, condition and demand. The exact figure is set case by case. LaraGo charges a €50 weekly management fee only while the car is rented and assigned to the fleet; if it is not in operation, the fee does not apply.
At this stage we also agree the expected contract length and what happens as the car nears the legal 7-year limit. Nothing is final until a contract is signed.
Ordinary private-use cover does not include paid passenger transport.
Article 12 of Law no. 45/2018 requires civil liability and personal-accident insurance including passengers, at least the legal minimum for hire-and-reward in light vehicles. Without it, the car cannot operate as TVDE.
LaraGo helps you take out activity-appropriate insurance and with the remaining paperwork. Do not treat the car as app-ready until this policy is in force.
A written partnership, the vehicle’s condition recorded, keys and papers at handover.
The rental contract sets the weekly rent, management fee, duration and use rules. At handover we record the condition (photos, mileage, existing damage) and collect keys and document copies.
LaraGo then lists the vehicle on Uber and Bolt, as required by article 12(1): only the operator may register the car. You remain the registered owner on the DUA.
From here, day-to-day management is LaraGo’s. You receive the agreed amount every week.
We assign a certified TVDE driver to your car. You do not recruit them, manage them or follow the apps. The fixed weekly payment is made regularly while the vehicle is on the fleet.
If the car leaves operation, the €50/week management fee stops. When it reaches 7 years from first registration, the law bars TVDE use — we arrange return in time.
Gather these before you apply: they speed up assessment and the contract.
Rent and the management fee are LaraGo terms, agreed in writing. Age, IPO and insurance rules come from the law — they are not negotiable.
Generally €200 to €400, a fixed amount set case by case before the contract. It does not vary with mileage or trips.
€50 per week, only while the car is rented and assigned to the fleet. No operation, no fee.
Required by law from first registration. The contract cannot run past that date.
One year after first registration and then annually. Stricter than a private car’s inspection calendar.
Liability and personal accident covering passengers. LaraGo helps you arrange it; the premium depends on the insurer.
With documents in order: usually a few days to two weeks from request to assessment, contract and handover.
The rent range is gross and indicative, not a locked price. Your car’s amount is only set in the written offer.
The partnership works when each side does its part. You provide an eligible car and the paperwork; we run the TVDE operation.
